Inspiring Change & Enabling Positive Development
WHY WE EXIST
The Positive Youth Education (PYE) Project aims to challenge the thought processes, beliefs and attitudes towards offending, deviant or risk taking behaviour in order to enable positive attitudinal and behavioural changes.
Adopting a life course approach our work identifies and targets individual’s risk factors, both static and dynamic. Through one to one, group work and community engagement we are able support the development of protective factors in the lives of vulnerable young people.

"We have always been very pleased with the contribution the PYE have made to the reduction of Serious Youth Violence in the Borough, both through this and other programmes that they have supported us with".
TANYA EDWARDSSTRATEGIC YOUTH OFFENDING SERVICE MANAGER
"I have been really impressed with the impact the programme has had on the young people; they speak enthusiastically about the elements of the work that has clearly had an impact upon them and their thinking".
JUDITH FELINEDEPUTY GOVENOR HMYOI COOKHAM WOOD
"Rap lyrics have a reputation for being full of hate. The lyrics the young people had written under the guidance of PYE tutors were full of hope, and performed with great skill and energy. We had an inspiring evening, and it is very rewarding to see youth music activities producing such optimism".
SIR RICHARD STILGOE OBE
We have a great deal to learn from the expertise, and the deep sensitivity, that PYE
bring to this work. This way of working should be a gold standard model for how we
develop our practice in youth justice settings.
